Mosaic
Press will be at the London Book Fair, April 14th-16th, 2008 at Earl's
Court.
We will be at our booth P 415 and although we are almost fully booked
by now, we hope that our friends, colleagues and authors will come by
or will drop us a note to make an appointment.
We are
receiving superb reviews for some of our latest publications,
including Teaching, Learning, Assessing: A Guide for Effective
Teaching at College and University edited by Kara Smith. University
Affairs stated: "...Read it; use it. Your students will thank
you!"
We have
re-issued Hugh Cook's wonderful novel Home in Alfalfa which coincided
with its stage adaptation and the performance in November 2007.
It was a great hit and also followed upon the release of the Dutch
translation of the book, published by Mosaik/Boekencentrum in Holland.
Laurie Kruk's book The Voice is the Story: Conversations with Canadian
Writers of Short Fiction won high praise from Curriculum Services
Canada which stated: "...recommended as a reference book to
support English and Literature studies in senior secondary classes
across Canada and in Canadian Literature courses at the university
level."
And
watch for more bold fiction from Leon Whiteson and Eric Koch coming
very shortly!

More good news in Foreign Rights from Mosaic Press.
Hugh Cook's novel, Homecoming Man, will be published by Boekencentrum/Mozaiek in the Netherlands in Summer 2007.
Shackleton's Captain: A Biography of Frank Worsley by John Thomson will be published in Italian by Cda & Vivaldi editori in 2007.
A Terrible Beauty: An exploration of the positive role of violence in life, culture and society, the controversial long essay by Leon Whiteson has been sold to the Italian publisher Edizioni Clandestine. This follows on his success with his erotic novel, "In The Garden of Desires" which we sold to the Doubleday/Bertelsmann erotic book club and for Italian and Spanish editions.
And, for other foreign rights news, please see our Spring/Summer 2007 Newsletter.
Mosaic Press continues to take chances and risks. We are also very pleased that we published the book "Piernas de Acero" in Spanish in late 2006. This book which chronicles the extraordinary adventure of Israel Valderrama, a bicycle trip from Columbia to Canada, 25000 kms, had a great review in Criticas in Feb 2007.
"Valderrama's inspirational story - as told to Arango - is ideal for anyone interested in true-life successes and spirit-lifting stories. Highly recommended for all bookstores and libraries.!"
Please come by to visit with us at the London Book Fair, booth U 625.
